The heart of Byfleet Parish Day
Byfleet Parish Day has been a treasured village tradition for decades — a celebration of community, connection, and local spirit. But none of it can happen without the dedication of our volunteers.
Every gazebo raised, every chair set out, every smiling welcome at the gate… it’s all thanks to people in our community who give a little of their time to make a big difference.
Parish Day is run entirely by volunteers, and we are determined not to lose this wonderful event. To keep it going for future generations, we need more helping hands — and we hope you’ll consider joining us.

What do volunteers do on Parish Day?
There’s a role for everyone, whether you prefer practical jobs, people-facing tasks, or simply pitching in wherever needed. Typical activities include:
Morning Setup (from 9am)
-
Assembling gazebos and stalls
-
Setting out tables and chairs
-
Marking entrances and boundaries with ropes and stakes
-
Unloading vans and helping stallholders get into position
During the Event (around 12pm onwards)
-
Assisting with car parking
-
Selling raffle tickets
-
Offering general help to visitors and stallholders
End‑of‑Day Packdown (from approx. 5pm until finish)
-
Dismantling and packing gazebos and stalls
-
Collecting tables, chairs, bunting, boundary tape, and stakes
-
Taking down the arena area
-
Litter‑picking the field and gathering waste bins
-
Loading vans
Whether you can help for an hour or the whole day, your support makes a real difference.

We’re also looking for a new Volunteer Coordinator
To ensure Parish Day runs smoothly, we’re looking for someone to take on the role of Volunteer Coordinator — a key part of the team.
This person will:
-
Welcome volunteers and be the friendly point of contact
-
Make sure everyone knows where they need to be and what to do
-
Help plan volunteer numbers for setup, activities, and packdown
-
Bring energy, organisation, and enthusiasm to the team
If you’re someone who enjoys organising people, communicating clearly, and being at the centre of a great community event, this role could be perfect for you.
If you’d like to volunteer, or if the Volunteer Coordinator role interests you, we’d love to hear from you.
Together, we can keep Byfleet Parish Day alive and thriving.
Thank you for helping make this day something the whole community can enjoy.
